Pro-Evo Summer Tournament


So the date is confirmed for the Pro-Evo European Summer Challenge Cup. The tournament will be taking place on the 26th July at the George Inn, thanks to Leon for allowing us the use of the backroom for the event (I'm pretty sure he will enjoy the days takings as well).

If you would like to test your skills against the best of the best then get your name on the list. Contact either V-Man, Frostie or Matt Mee to let them know, alternatively declare your interest on the message board.

The cost to enter is £10 as per usual and prize money will go to the winner and the runner-up.

There will be a mximum of 32 teams in the tournament all from Europe. The teams will be drawn against a players name when they hand in there entry fee.

Pre-Season

Time to put the work in


It's that time of year again lads. The hard work starts here and it is important that we all put in the maximum effort to get as fit as we can before the season starts.

Of course it is going to be tough but getting fit isn't meant to be easy, if it was then Joe Wallers brother Rick would be 15 stone lighter.

At the end of the day the fitter you are the more you will enjoy the game as you will be able to contribute more throughout the 90 minutes. Anyway training start Tuesday 1st July at 6:30 on the recreation ground. Look forward to seeing the usual suspects and some new faces.

New Message board

New and improved security for GUFC Online


Over recent weeks there has been a lot of needless and pretty pointless chat going on the existing message board, 90% of which has no doubt come from people who are not connected with the club.

The message board was never set up with the intention of creating a place where people can slate Girton, slate individuals and talk absolute bollocks about stuff that we really don't care about.

So the new forum will request you to sign up, therefore allowing us to verify who you are and ban any rogue users who are hell bent either bigging themselves up, their team up or just purposely trying to cause trouble between two teams.

The new forum will allow video's, images etc. So it will not only be more secure, it will also allow for more banter.

GUFC Events

What? Where? When?


With the golf day being cancelled last week due to lack of numbers (maybe due to lack of people who can play). GUFC Online was wondering what sort of things poeple would like to do to increase the social profile of the club and most importantly inject some cash into the club through fundraising.

With new events co-ordinator V-Man on board it is time to share your ideas. Your input is vitally important as any event that raises funds for the club is a positive thing.

So if you have an idea of something we can all do to increase revenue, team spirit and give those older members of the squad an excuse to go out then let us know on the message board.

GUFC Fantasy Football

Pick up your own points throughout the season


We all love a fantasy, whether it be on a beach surrounded by bikini clad bimbo's attending to your every need, or even a fantasy where every door in your house leads to another fast food restaurant (Matty?) or maybe a fantasy where your office is 100 miles away from your front door and the only mode of transport is your legs (Ged?).

Anyway next season you will have your chance be part of your own fantasy, well fantasy football that is.

GUFC Online has decided that each player will gain fantasy points in each game and at the end of the season they will be rewarded with a prize.
