Azza Exercet Sets the Tone

It was a good weekend for both Girton sides as impressive victories over to good sides left smiles on all those associated with the club.

The first team fired two goals past Soham without reply, Aaron Maskell's drive surely goal of the season, and Andy Mee's shindabydoozy volley bamboozled the opposing keeper to give Girton the 2-0 victory.

The Reserves put aside their dissapointment of mid-week with a fine 2-1 victory of promotion chasing JM Sports with Craig Verrinder scoring twice.

Gilling's Crocked again!

Girton United's very own Sicknote was unfortunately injured again this week. After making his return to training on Thursday and looking quite sharp for someone who has been out of the game as nearly as long as original sicknote Will Celentano it was a real blow to see him turn his ankle during the warm up to Sunday's game. The extent of the injury is not yet known although it is hopefully not too serious, but it is another set back for Girton as one of there best serving players faces yet another spell on the sideline.

In the light of this GUFC decided to try to find out what were the worst football injuries ever. (distasteful maybe, but oh well, strong stomachs all round).

Thanks to YouTube we have a small video. Be warned this is not for the faint hearted!!!
